AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Michael Fischbach and Mitch Lasceski produced two hits apiece and each drove in a run and Andrew Fabry threw 4.2 innings of relief to lead Albion College to a 5-3 victory over Wittenberg (Ohio) University in spring break baseball action at Lake Myrtle Park Friday morning.
The victory, Albion's fifth in a row, pushes the Britons record to 5-2. It is Albion's longest winning streak since a six-game run in April of 2014.
Lasceski was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the first.
Fabry worked in relief of Craig Conway. The first-year student-athlete inherited runners on first and second with one out in the fifth, but got Timmy Bates to ground Turnbull at shortstop for a double play on the first pitch.
Wittenberg advanced runners to second and third with one out in the sixth, but the Tigers scored only one run. Fabry retired the final 11 batters in order to gain his first victory at the collegiate level.
