Briton Riders Finish Third in Regular Season Competition

The Briton hunt seat team wrapped the regular season Feb. 11-12 with a home doubleheader that saw five more riders qualify for the postseason en route to Albion's reserve champion finishes both days. The Britons finished third in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's, Region 4, Zone 6 standings for the regular season.

First year student Sydney Rudowski led the charge for the home team with top finishes in Novice flat that secured her place at Regionals; she was followed closely by classmates Koryn Wilenius, also in Novice flat, and Jessica Imel in Advanced.

The upperclass students weren't to be denied, however, with juniors Marjori Boldt qualifying for Regionals in Intermediate over fences and Ashley Butler in Novice flat.

The team's newest rider, Alicia Espinoza also secured her first victory of the season with a win in Walk-Trot on Saturday.

Though team competition for the Britons is now complete for the season, the individuals qualified for the post-season will compete at home again when the Britons host the IHSA Regional Meet on Sunday, March 19.
