A Dec. 1 date with the University of Evansville is the highlight of the Albion College men's basketball non-conference schedule released today.
The game is scheduled to tip at 2 p.m. Eastern Time at Evansville's Ford Center.
It will be Albion's first game against a NCAA Division I rival since visiting Wright State University on Dec. 1, 2015. The Britons also challenged Oakland University in January of 2015 and Eastern Michigan University to launch the 2013-14 campaign.
A member of the Missouri Valley Conference, Evansville won 17 games last season. The Aces will be under the direction of first-year head coach Walter McCarty.
"Competing against a Division I opponent like Evansville will be a great experience for our players," Albion Head Coach Jody May said. "We appreciate the University of Evansville and Coach McCarty for the opportunity to play this game."
Albion will launch the 2018-19 season Nov. 9 with a road trip to Cleveland, Ohio, for a meeting with Case Western Reserve University.
The Britons return home the following weekend to begin a three-game homestand against Capital University (Nov. 16), Kenyon College (Nov. 17) and Heidelberg University (Nov. 20).
Albion also has a home non-league date with North Central College on Dec. 17.
The Britons start Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a Jan. 3 home date against 2018 champion Olivet College. Albion's other home dates against MIAA rivals include Jan. 12 (vs. Kalamazoo College), Jan. 16 (vs. Trine University), Jan. 19 (vs. Calvin College), Jan. 30 (vs. Adrian College), Feb. 2 (vs. Alma College) and Feb. 16 (vs. Hope College).
