Albion Holds On For Season-Opening Win

DETROIT – Albion rode a dominant third quarter to a 15-12 victory over Carthage (Wis.) College in its first contest of the 2014 season.

Albion scored the final five goals of the quarter to take an 11-5 lead into the final quarter. Cameron Braun ignited the Briton rally and Kevin O'Grady tacked on two goals and Alexander Dziewit added a goal.

O'Grady finished the night with four goals and an assist. Tim Urso produced three goals and an assist. Joel Hedemark, Zach Hubbell, and Dylan Neal chipped in with two goals apiece. Hedemark also dished out two assists.

Carthage made a late push, scoring the last five goals of the contest.

Albion continues non-league competition Feb. 15 when it travels to Ohio for a contest against Kenyon College.
