ALBION, Mich. – Albion College snapped a two-game skid in dominating fashion Saturday as it scored a 17-2 victory over Thiel (Pa.) College in a non-league men's lacrosse contest.
"We were looking to make changes to the way we were approaching the game," Albion Coach Jae DeCola said. "We put our focus on ground balls and capitalizing on the opponent's mistakes. We received great efforts from some kids."
Urso dished out three assists to finish the day with six points. Alexander Dziewit tacked on a goal and three assists.
Jordan Hempfling made his first career start at goalkeeper and he finished with five saves. Fracis Ahia broke up the shutout bid with a pair of goals early in the fourth quarter.
Albion finished the non-league portion of the season with a 6-3 record. The Britons have a week to prepare for its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest, an April 5 date against Olivet College.
