BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – John Cooke's goal, his second of the day, with 1:11 left helped Albion College hang on for a 13-11 victory over the College of Wooster in non-league men's lacrosse action.
Albion led by as many as four late in the second quarter. Kyle DeCamp's goal lifted the Britons to a 9-5 lead with four minutes left until halftime.
Wooster scored the next three goals to pull within a goal, but Albion recovered with goals from Lebioda and Hamper.
Nathaniel Miller scored goals a minute apart midway through the fourth as Wooster again cut the Albion lead to a goal.
Wooster generated a couple of shots for the equalizing goal, but one was sent wide and the other was stopped by Albion goalkeeper Brandon Tata.
"It may not have been the prettiest game, but we held on for the win," Head Coach Jake DeCola said. "It's only Feb. 18 so we have plenty of time to improve."
Tata collected 17 saves as Wooster finished with a 31-20 edge in shots on goal.
Albion returns to Detroit Country Day School for a Feb. 25 contest against Kenyon College.
