Andrew Prince, an Albion College defender, has been selected CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division III Men's Soccer team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
A biology major from Ann Arbor (Saline High School), Prince was voted to the third team. He boasts a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. A member of Albion's Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program, Prince serves as president of Albion's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and as a member of the Student Senate. A Dean's List student, he is currently writing his senior thesis.
On the field, Prince helped Albion qualify for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament by producing the game-winning goal and an assist to lift Albion to a 3-0 victory over Olivet College in October. He also dished out an assist in the Sept. 3 non-league contest at Grinnell, Iowa, College.
"It is amazing to be recognized for all the hard work I put in academically and athletically," Prince said. "I have tried to be the best athlete and student I could be throughout my collegiate career. Receiving this award is proof that my work over the years was recognized and it encourages me to work even harder as I move on to the next stage of my life. I was incredibly lucky to have great support from my family, friends, and Albion College. I think with everyone's help I had all the opportunities and support I needed to succeed."
