ALBION, Mich. – Spring Arbor University defeated Albion College, 6-3, in a non-league men's tennis match Thursday, but the result could have tipped in the Britons' favor if a couple of singles matches had went the other way.
Tucker Blake defeated Nathan Scholten in the third flight, and Aaron Stanley won in straight sets at No. 5 to produce Albion's points in singles. Ross Kynast lost the No. 6 match in three sets and Eric Guindi pushed his opponent to a first set tiebreaker at No. 2. Will Pearl extended his opponent to a second set tiebreaker at No. 4.
Pearl and Steven Nawrocki were 8-5 winners at No. 3 doubles.
Albion will travel to central Florida next week for non-league matches during spring break.
