Softball Team Completes Ohio Trip

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Albion College collected seven hits in 8-0 and 7-0 losses at Bluffton University.

Albion, 6-10 on the season, is scheduled to make its debut on the new Dempsey Field inside the Davis Athletic Complex Sunday afternoon with a 2 o'clock doubleheader against North Park University. The Britons also have a Monday afternoon home doubleheader with Defiance College on the schedule with the first pitch at 3:30.

Game 1

Bluffton scored three in the first and added three more in the second.

Ashley Witkowski hit a double to lead off the fourth inning and she advanced to third on a single by Eryn VanderVlucht with one out. The Britons did not score, however, when they hit into a double play to end the scoring threat.

Albion also had two runners on base in the fifth as Savannah Spring singled and Andrea Benson walked with two out.

Game 2

Angela Hoffsis collected two of Albion's three hits.

Bluffton scored five times in the third and it added runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
