Brett de Bear finished the season as the third-leading scorer in 16 games against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals, and she was rewarded by the league coaches Monday by being placed on the all-MIAA second team.
A junior guard from Plymouth who prepped at Salem High School, de Bear averaged 16 points per game in league play. She scored in double figures in 14 of the 16 league contests, reaching a high of 23 in three games.
Her scoring average was supported by an uncanny ability to get to the free throw line where she converted 85 of 109 attempts. Her 78 percent accuracy from the charity stripe was sixth-best in the MIAA.
For the 25-game season, de Bear scored 406 points, the fourth-most in a single-season in school history.
