ALBION, Mich. – Albion scored the last four goals Sunday, but it ran out of time in a 17-13 loss to Southwestern (Texas) University in a non-league women's lacrosse contest.
Christina Rosendahl, Kaitlyn Campbell and Emma Albin scored consecutive goals as Southwestern built a 17-9 lead with 11 ½ minutes left.
Kit Maher and Kadie Koolwick produced goals to got the Albion rally started and Ashley Glenn followed with the final two scores. Glenn finished the contest with six goals, bringing her season total to 44.
Koolwick, Maher and Julie Wood produced two goals apiece for Albion.
Campbell led Southwestern with five goals, while Albin finished with four.
It will be Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals from here on for Albion. The Britons host Olivet for a league date Saturday at 1 o'clock.
