Second Half Shortage

ALMA, Mich. – Alyssa Glenn scored three times in the first half, but she was limited to one goal in the second half and Albion College could not keep pace with Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse contest.

Sydney Bryce and Tracy Gallihugh each scored twice as Alma scored the first six goals of the second half to pull away for a 14-9 victory over the Britons.

Albion held a 5-4 lead at halftime. Kadie Koolwick and Julie Wood also scored first half goals for the Britons.

Gallihugh tacked on the equalizer for Alma a minute into the second half. The score remained tied for seven minutes and then Alma struck for five goals in a seven-minute span.

Alma led by as many as seven goals during the second half. Mackenzie Novak scored two of her three goals in the final minute to cut the final margin to five.

Albion, 6-5 overall and 3-1 against MIAA rivals, travels for a Saturday match at Calvin College.
