Britons Ring Belles In Women's Soccer

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Alex Radzville scored three times in the first 18 minutes of the game as Albion College cruised to a 6-0 victory over Saint Mary's College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer contest Tuesday night.

Athena Balcoff added her first collegiate goal midway through the first half, and Samatha LaRocca and Emily Brittain tacked on second half goals.

"We finally found some consistency in the final third of the field," Albion Head Coach Eric Scott said. "We were able to transfer some concepts from training into the game."

In the process, Riley Burnette dished out three assists, matching the school record. Liz Hermiller (vs. Hiram in 2000), Jessica Hayes (vs. Adrian in 1994) and Tonya Taylor (vs. Olivet in 1993) are the other Britons to dish out three assists in a match.

Even the defense got involved in the scoring, with Sarah Castellano getting credit with an assist.

Albion dominated the match, holding a 35-4 edge in shots, including 23-2 in shots on goal.

Megan Bricely, making her first appearance this season at goalkeeper for Albion, collected her fourth career shutout.

Albion (5-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 against MIAA rivals) returns home for a 2:30 Saturday contest against Alma College.
