Sarah Castellano added another award to her 2017 women's soccer campaign. The junior defender from Northville, Mich., was placed on the all-Central Region third team as selected by the United Soccer Coaches.
Castellano was previously voted to the all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association first team.
While injuries forced Albion College to make adjustments to its back line, Castellano was recognized for being adaptable. Albion was among the hardest teams to score against in the MIAA. The Britons surrendered 23 goals all season long, third-fewest in the league.
"Back line players are best when you don't notice them, however, Sarah's presence on the field was invaluable," Albion Head Coach Eric Scott said. "I am proud of the way she battled all year and look forward to her contributions next year."
