Ninety kids jumped into Dean Aquatic Center March 2 as Albion College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its swimming clinic for the area children.

The pool was a busy place as children learned to different types of swimming strokes, and the more advanced swimmers took turns making a splash off the diving board.

Brad Collins, a junior member of the swim team from Saginaw, gave some insight to what the children experienced at the clinic. "I had a fantastic time at the clinic Saturday. It was great seeing how excited all the kids were to receive lessons, and how excited the team was to be giving them. I know that I don't speak for myself when I say that it was an honor helping out and giving back to the community. But the real treat was seeing the kids' strokes improve by the end of the session and the smiles on everyone's faces."

Registrations are still being accepted for the April 20 football clinic. There is a waiting list for all other clinics. Contact Melissa Walton, via e-mail at mwalton@albion.edu or phone at 517/629-0593, to register or to put your child's name on the waiting list.
