Angela Morrison produced 18 points in the two hurdles events to lead Albion College in the Marv Frye Invitational on Saturday and she was rewarded by being selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Westland, Mich., won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.57 seconds and she achieved a school record and MIAA best time this season of 1:05.54 in finishing second in the 400 hurdles.
She also helped Albion achieve third place in the 4x100 relay.
While she competed on the track last week, Morrison is a multi-event athlete and the 5' 1" clearance she achieved in the high jump at the March 25 meet at Indiana Wesleyan puts her first in the conference.
Morrison also holds the conference's best time in the 100 hurdles at 15.25, a time she achieved April 1 at Alma College.
Morrison will go in search of a qualifying score for the NCAA Division III Championship in the heptathlon when she competes Thursday and Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University.
