ADRIAN, Mich. – Albion College managed nine hits in 5-1 and 6-1 losses against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Adrian College.
Starting pitcher Nate Brubaker kept Adrian from a big inning, scattering three runs over 4.2 innings. The key to Brubaker's success was limiting damage as the Bulldogs stranded 10 runners over the first four innings.
Jack Wyman collected a pair of singles. In fact, he followed Ben Crawford with a hit as the Britons had two runners on base with one out in the fifth. The Britons were unable to hit the ball out of the infield from there and failed to score.
Albion is scheduled to play a non-league date at Hillsdale College at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Britons next Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association series is against Trine University. The Britons and Thunder are scheduled to play a Sunday doubleheader at Albion's Frank Joranko Field.
