ALBION, Mich. – Albion College let a chance to upset Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leading Adrian College in the second game of a doubleheader slip away in the ninth inning.
A throwing error helped Adrian tack on an insurance run as the Bulldogs escaped with a 6-3 victory and gain a sweep of the twinbill after scoring an 11-0 victory in game one.
Adrian scored seven times in the third. Brian Guck singled driving in two runs and Ian Mikowski slugged a two-run double. Mikowski added a two-run single in the fifth.
Lindemann's RBI groundout cut the Albion deficit to 4-3 in the fifth.
Albion advanced runners to second in the sixth and seventh but failed to score.
Adrian scored the insurance runs with two out in the ninth as Mikowski scored on Ryan Dorow's double. Dorow advanced to third when the throw from the outfield came home as the Britons tried to get Mikowski and then the Briton pitcher's throw to third sailed into left field sending Dorow home.
Priebe finished the day with four hits.
The teams will meet at Adrian's Nicolay Field at 1 o'clock Sunday to complete the four-game series.
