Ruger provides point in women's tennis loss

ALBION, Mich. – Breh Ruger won the No. 2 singles match for the only point Albion College would score in an 8-1 loss to Alma College in women's tennis action.

Ruger split sets with Abigail Davenport, but she rallied to take the tiebreaker to decide the match.

Saige Jost played in a tiebreaker in the No. 1 singles match. Jost won the first set in a tiebreaker, but she was not able to maintain the momentum.

Albion will conclude its fall season with an Oct. 4 match at Concordia University.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email
