Seniors Cassandra Vince and Andrew Wittland and junior Kiehl Smith represent Albion College as all-Great Lakes region performers in cross country, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association reported Tuesday morning.
The Britons earned the distinction by finishing among the top 35 runners in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Championship in Shelbyville, Ind., last Saturday.
Vince, from Amherst, Ohio, stamped her ticket to compete as an individual in the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday with a third-place finish in the region meet. She completed the 6K course in 21:20.1, setting the fastest time of her career and shaving nine seconds off her winning time in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship two weeks ago.
Wittland, who prepped at Forest Hills Northern in Grand Rapids, Mich., was the 21st in the men's race at the regional championship. He completed the 8K course in 25:47.7.
Smith, from Jonesville, Mich., set a time of 25:59.3 to finish 29th.
